Find out what guests around the world think of ISFA

Mehdi Mezrag, Paris, France

All I knew was concrete and the asphalt. But qualifying for the ISFA World Cup made me realize there is much more to life than the limits I used to see around me. Street football opened a door and showed me that the streets can actually lead somewhere.

Yousef Ayman Riesco, Cairo, Egypt

When I first heard about ISFA, I was excited, but honestly, I thought something like this would never really be possible. But once the first ISFA World Cup happened, everything changed. Being connected to the whole world through ISFA is indeed life-changing.

Guilherme Marcondes, São Paulo, Brazil

The ISFA World Cup was my first time travelling outside Brazil. Suddenly I was sharing the court with people from all over the world. It felt unreal, almost like a movie.

Jackie Wei, Nanchang, China

In China, a lot of what we did in street football felt isolated. Since becoming part of ISFA, we realized that hundreds of communities around the world are building the same thing. Being connected with them, and finally meeting them at the ISFA World Cup, is one of the best things that ever happened to us.

Jack Downer aka Streetpanna, England

Street football is the most played sport in the world. Everywhere you go, in every country, you still see kids playing on the streets. But most of them will never become professionals in traditional football, and that reality can break many dreams. ISFA gives those kids a different kind of hope. It is not only building a new sport, it is showing a new way of life, helping people to unfold their true potential.

FAQs

Heeft u vragen?

Do you have any questions?

Maybe you can find the answer here!

What is ISFA? The International Street Football Association, ISFA, is the world governing body for 3v3 Street Football.
ISFA gives 3v3 Street Football the structure, standards and global pathway needed to become a recognized professional sport, while protecting the raw culture, identity and authenticity that made the game powerful in the first place.
ISFA organizes the official ISFA 3v3 Street Football World Cup and connects national teams with local communities - at its core, ISFA is where the raw culture of the streets meets the structure of international sport. It gives the game a global future, while keeping it rooted in the people, places and communities that created it.
What is 3v3 Street Football? 3v3 Street Football is football in its most direct form.
Three players against three players. Small space. High speed. No hiding. Every touch matters, every duel matters, every mistake matters. It is technical, emotional, intense and made for the crowd.
Street football is also one of the most played forms of football in the world. From cages and concrete courts to schoolyards, barrios, favelas and neighborhoods, people everywhere play the game in its simplest and rawest form.
What makes 3v3 Street Football different from traditional football? Modern 11-a-side football is moving further and further away from the people. It has become overcommercialized, overproduced and, too often, dominated by ego, image and marketing.
3v3 Street Football is different. It is close. It is raw. It is personal. The crowd feels the players, the players feel the crowd, and the game becomes alive again.
This is not football from behind a screen. This is football you can feel.
Why does ISFA exist? ISFA exists to keep the streets alive.
Street football is more than entertainment. It is one of the most powerful tools for effective social work and alternative education, because it reaches people that many institutions no longer reach. It catches the attention of young people who have often been written off by society and creates a space where their discipline, character, responsibility and identity can be reshaped.
Around the world, street football leaders serve their neighborhoods, barrios, favelas, blocks, cages and concrete courts through the game. They do it out of love, but also because they feel responsible for their people.
ISFA brings these communities together and gives them a global platform, not to take street football away from the streets, but to make the streets visible to the world.
We are people from the streets, doing it for people from the streets.
What is the mission of ISFA? The mission of ISFA is to connect, structure and elevate street football communities worldwide.
We travel to hidden places, collaborate with local communities and bring their stories, players and cultures to the world. We do not want to remove street football from the streets. We want to give the streets the recognition they deserve.
The world sees stadiums, transfers and celebrities. ISFA shows the unseen, the players, leaders and communities that keep football real.
We are the screen of the unseen.
Why is Utrecht special for this event? Because Utrecht will not just host a tournament. Utrecht will host the rawest street football cultures on earth.
Players and communities are coming from hidden streets in Medellín, busy football areas in Alexandria, underground scenes in Tokyo, the Balkan jungle of Belgrade, the favelas of São Paulo, European cages, Dutch courts and ex-Soviet street football roots from Kyrgyzstan.
For people in Utrecht and The Netherlands, this is a chance to witness a side of football they usually never get to see live. Not polished. Not fake. Not distant.
Real people. Real stories. Real football.
